The lightweight favorite PPG helmet
The Icaro SkyRider TZ certified polycarbate helmet has been the number one selling Powered Paragliding Helmet for several years running. Improvements and attention to detail over the years and resulted in a work of art, as you can see. The SkyRider used to be available in white, but the white was discountinued because the carbon was so popular.

Safe and Comfortable
These fully certified helmets are super light weight and extremely durable Polycarbonate. They are amoung the most comfortable helmets we have ever tried.
Radio Compatibility
The Com helmets work with most FRS, GMRS, VHF, UHF, and aviation radios. Choose your connector from the lists below. If you don't see your radio, email or call: 619-993-1922. |
|
Sound Clarity
The noise canceling microphone keeps the conversations clear, even at full throttle. Normal microphones are useless in this environment.
Push to talk, left or right side
The push to talk button is available either on the left or right side ear cup. Typically you will choose a PTT that is on the opposite side of your throttle. The trend now is for left hand throttles so the dominate right hand is free for other tasks. |

| Deluxe Com Features |
|
|
| |
|
|
Side Tone
The Deluxe Coms add side tone, which allows you to hear yourself while you transmit, providing confirmation that the radio is working. Side tone helps you speak at the correct volume to avoid over modulation while still speaking loud enough. Though many experienced pilots do without side tone, it is especially helpful for newer pilots.
Music Input
The Deluxe Coms also come with the 5 mm music input (RCA mono) which allows you to listen to your MP3, iphone, or ipod. The Peltor Earcups deliver crisp clear sound for music and radio transmissions. Adaptor required. |
|
 |
|
|
Aviation Radios
The Deluxe Coms are compatible with many aviation radios including Icoms and Vertex. The aviation 2 pin connector enables you to use the helmet with a general aviation intercom.

Please give this the attention it deserves.
It takes
less time to measure carefully than to repack and
return a helmet.
Place the tape measure around your head,
just above the center of the forehead, and on the "lump" in
back. Make sure the tape is level all around
and pull it snug. Measure to the nearest 1/8 inch or 1/2
centimeter. |

Standard and Deluxe Com
helmets are compatable with most radios. Choose from the 10 connectors when ordering. It's also a good idea to include your model number in the notes page during the checkout process for your order. Don't worry, if for some reason you have a radio we can not accomidate, you will not be charged.
Aviation radios such as the Icom IC-A4, IC-A5, IC-A6, IC-A14 and the Vertex VXA220 require the Deluxe Com, which has the amplified mic that most aviation radios need.
If you aren't sure which connector you need or don't see your radio listed, call or email us with your radio model information.
 |
CT-44 Adaptor |
If you have a Yaesu/Vertex vx-270 or v-x250, consider choosing the Standard 2 pin connector
and purchase a CT-44 or CT-91 adpator. This will give you more versitility, because you'll bee able to use radios with either connector type. These adaptors are available at most Ham Radio stores such as Universal
Radio or Ham
Radio Outlet.

What Radio should I use?
When it comes to powered paragliding, cheap FRS radios are popular, but they are not always the best solution. Aviation band radios are rarely needed. More... |
